about
Weeping Willow is a song about missing childhood and the deep connection to nature that can be lost with youth. A yearning for time spent climbing trees and being disconnected from the terror and turmoil of the outside world. Madison's younger brother was diagnosed with MS at only 23. This song was written during a traumatic time when he had an extreme flare up after an experimental treatment and was in the hospital. Weeping Willow was recorded and produced by Jason Scavone at Sioux Sioux Studio (Charlotte, NC). Single art by Paige Reitterer (Charlotte, NC).
lyrics
picking out the blue one
giving up the to and from
sitting outside no one’s there
digging up the note
that I thought you wrote
climbing up the trees
just to see the leaves
do you remember?
We used to play outside
in the middle of the night
Do you remember?
that time we blew up on the news
blame it on the booze
so I keep on writing songs
all the maybe singalongs
will I will I or will I won’t
no one knows
no one knows
If I try very hard
would you carry me from the start
weeping willow be my pillow cause I
don’t wanna be scared anymore
looking up at all the stars
where do we go maybe Mars
will I will I or will I want
no one knows no one knows
oh my brother rediscover color
I don’t wanna be scared anymore
hold your mother
don’t be undercover
nobody’s getting out of this war
looking up at all the stars
where do we go maybe Mars
will I will I or will I won’t
no one knows no one knows
